Currently, JAL is using its new flagship A350-1000s on one of its two daily rotations between Tokyo Haneda and New York. Every other day from April 17, 2024, the type is also expected to be deployed on the airline’s Haneda – Dallas Ft. Worth route.
The route operates daily with the following schedule:
- JL12 / Tokyo Haneda – Dallas Ft. Worth / 10:55AM – 8:40AM
- JL11 / Dallas Ft. Worth – Tokyo Haneda / 11:05AM – 2:40PM+1
On the days when the A350-1000 will not operate, JAL will continue using its Boeing 777-300ERs. Once it receives its fourth A350-1000, the 777-300ER will most likely be withdrawn from the route.
Currently, JAL operates two A350-1000s, each with 239 seats including six in first, 54 in business, 24 in premium economy, and 155 in economy class. In all of the cabins, the airline uses newly designed seats.
In total, JAL will receive 11 more A350-1000s from Airbus, replacing its 777-300ERs one-to-one. Of those, six are expected to join the airline during FY2024, which starts on April 1, 2024. The airline also recently announced it will order A350-900s for use on international flights. Those are expected to start joining its fleet in FY2027.
JAL’s next destination to be operated by the A350-1000 is expected to be London Heathrow.
