ITA Airways to offer premium economy on Rome – Tokyo route from early July 2024

Earlier this year, ITA Airways went from connecting the two capitals five times a week to doing so daily.

Starting on July 6, 2024, in the direction from Rome and a day later in the other direction, ITA Airways will add premium economy service to its daily flights between the Italian capital and Tokyo Haneda Airport. It will continue to use the Airbus A350-900 on the route.

With that, the airline will offer 319 total seats on each flight including 33 in business, 24 in premium economy, and 262 in economy class. The currently used two-class aircraft feature 15 extra seats, seating a total of 334 passengers including 33 in business and 301 in economy class.

ITA Airways operates six A350-900s and is in the process of adding premium economy class to all airframes. It is the only airline currently offering non-stop flights between Japan and Italy. That said, ANA will join it later this year as the Japanese airline, and ITA Airways’ codeshare partner, plans to launch flights to Milan Malpensa.
