In December 2023, Ibex Airlines refreshed the livery of its Rakuten Eagles Jet, an aircraft promoting Rakuten Eagles, a baseball team based in Sendai, one of the airline’s hubs. From March 29, 2024, the airline will expand the themed service offered onboard flights operated by the logojet.
The two new service aspects will include:
- A welcome onboard announcement by Takahiro Norimoto, one of the baseball team’s pitchers
- The cabin crew wearing Rakuten Eagles uniforms instead of the regular Ibex Airlines uniforms on Rakuten Eagles’ home game days during the 2024 season
The service on the Rakuten Eagles Jet will also continue to include special headrest covers, boarding music in the form of the team’s theme song “Habatake Rakuten Eagles,” and drink service using Rakuten Eagles-themed cups. These aspects were introduced on December 17, 2023, when the livery was revamped.
Between September 2020 and the introduction of the revised livery, the same aircraft (a CRJ-700 registered JA07RJ) wore the previous generation Rakuten Eagles Jet livery.
