Hiroshima Airport will start collecting Passenger Service Facility Charge (PSFC) from passengers departing on domestic flights, the airport’s operator announced on September 27, 2024.
The PSFC will be collected from passengers that purchase their tickets on January 7, 2025, and later, and will be paid together with airfare at the time of booking. The charge will be 340 yen (approximately 2.4 USD) including tax for passengers 12 years and older and 170 yen (approximately 1.2 USD) including tax for passengers between three and 12 years old. Infants under three years old will be exempt.
The PSFC is used for financing passenger service-related facilities such as departure and arrival lobbies. The airport is currently working on renovating the east side of its domestic terminal by, among other things, adding charging spots and improving its resiliency at the time of disasters.
