Hawaiian Airlines will launch flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita on May 12, 2025, as part of its efforts to align its route network with Alaska Airlines, which has a hub in the US city. To do so, the airline will reduce its service between Honolulu and Tokyo and consolidate it at Haneda Airport.
The new route will operate daily as follows:
- HA823 / Seattle – Tokyo Narita / 1:30PM – 4:00PM
- HA824 / Tokyo Narita – Seattle / 6:25PM – 11:30AM
Hawaiian Airlines will use Airbus A330-200 aircraft to connect the two cities. With that, it will offer 278 seats on each flights including 18 in business and 260 in economy class.
“We believe our guests will be as excited as we are about these new nonstop flights to Tokyo and Seoul – two of the world’s most dynamic cities. From our global gateway in Seattle, we can conveniently connect travelers from across our network as they head to Asia and beyond,” said Alaska Air Group CEO Ben Minicucci. In Seattle, passengers will be able to connect to and from flights to approximately 100 destinations within North America served by Alaska Airlines.
The Honolulu – Tokyo service reorganization will include the termination of Hawaiian Airlines’ six weekly flights from Honolulu to Narita and the increase of its flights between Honolulu and Haneda from 12 weekly to double daily. With that, the overall number of Hawaiian’s weekly rotations between Honolulu and Tokyo will decrease from 18 to 14.
Hawaiian Airlines will be the fourth airline to connect Tokyo with Seattle. ANA and JAL, as well as Delta Air Lines, already offer daily flights, with JAL using Narita and the other two using Haneda Airport.
