On May 18, 2024, Hokkaido Air System (HAC) decorated one of its ATR 42-600s with a decal commemorating the 50th anniversary of Hokkaido’s Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park. The decal is expected to stay on the aircraft until approximately mid-November 2024.

The simple decal consisting of the park’s 50th-anniversary logo is placed to the left of the port-side passenger door on the rear part of the fuselage. It is worn by aircraft registered JA13HC, which wears the oneworld alliance livery.

In addition to the decal, between mid-June and late-October 2024, Hokkaido Air System will also sell tote bags with the park anniversary logo on all of its flights and donate a portion of the generated sales toward nature conservation efforts in the park. This, as well as the decal, are part of the airline’s “Let’s fly on HAC and protect Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park’s nature!” campaign.

Hokkaido Air System operates a fleet of four ATR 42-600s on flights within Hokkaido and from Hokkaido to Honsu’s Tohoku area. Except for flights between Hakodate and Okushiri, all of the airline’s flights are to and from Sapporo Okadama Airport.

The Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park was recognized as a national park on September 20, 1974.
