On May 13, 2024, self-bag drop machines will be put into service in Fukuoka Airport’s international terminal. With that, passengers departing on select airlines will be able to bypass regular check-in counters even when traveling with checked baggage.
In total, 14 self-bag drop machines will be available in the middle of the terminal’s check-in hall. Their addition follows the increase in the number of self-check-in machines from 26 to 38 in March 2024.
The self-bag drop machines will initially be available to passengers of Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, and China Airlines. More eligible airlines are expected to be added over time. Passengers will be able to use the machines between three hours and 75 minutes before departure.
Fukuoka Airport is also currently in the process of expanding the international terminal, with completion expected by the end of the current fiscal year (March 31, 2025).
