On March 6, 2024, Taiwan’s EVA Air resumed flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Matsuyama in Shikoku. The route was first launched in July 2019 but was soon suspended due to the pandemic. The resumption comes approximately four years after the last scheduled flight between the two cities.

Going forward, the flights will generally operate twice a week. That said, between March 20 and April 30, 2024, which is the cherry blossom viewing season, the frequency will be increased to four weekly rotations. The schedule is as follows:

  • BR110 / Taipei Taoyuan – Matsuyama / 6:25AM – 9:45AM* / Wed, Thu**, Sat**, Sun
  • BR109 / Matsuyama – Taipei Taoyuan / 11:05AM – 12:55PM* / Wed, Thu**, Sat**, Sun

* During the summer schedule starting on March 31, 2024, the departure and arrival times will shift forward by 20 minutes.
** Extra flights during the cherry blossom viewing season.

EVA Air will use Airbus A321ceo aircraft on the route. With that, 184 seats including eight in business class and 176 in economy class will be offered on each flight.

The airline’s other destinations in Japan include Fukuoka, Komatsu, Naha, Osaka Kansai, Sapporo New Chitose, Sendai, Tokyo Haneda, and Tokyo Narita.
