Kansai Airports group ground handler CKTS to appoint Tetsuya Oonuki its next CEO

CKTS Co., Ltd., a ground handling company that is part of the Kansai Airports Co., Ltd. group which operates Osaka Itami, Osaka Kansai, and Kobe airports, announced it will appoint Tetsuya Oonuki its President & CEO from July 1, 2024. Oonuki will succeed Atsushi Kato, who is expected to become a board of directors member from June 27, 2024.

The decision is expected to be finalized at the company’s June 27, 2024, general shareholders meeting and July 1, 2024, board of directors meeting.

Oonuki’s career started at JAL in 1985, which he joined after graduating from Keio University. Since then, he served in various roles in the industry including being a JAL executive officer and the president of JAL’s regional subsidiary J-Air. Most recently, he was the president of AGP, a major airport equipment provider. He held that role until the end of the previous fiscal year.

CKTS, formerly Cathay Kansai Terminal Service, was established in 1990 and launched operations in 1994, the same year as Osaka Kansai Airport. Since then, the company has provided ground handling services at the airport. Additionally, in 2010, it expanded it started offering service at Tokyo Haneda Airport too.
