China Airlines to resume Taipei – Kagoshima route in May 2024

The Kagoshima route will be operated by China Airlines’ 737-800s.

Starting on May 7, 2024, China Airlines will resume schedule flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Kagoshima. The route was last operated on March 1, 2020, before being suspended due to the pandemic.

During the 2024 summer schedule, the flights will be operated twice a week with the following schedule:

  • CI118 / Taipei Taoyuan – Kagoshima / 8:15AM – 11:20AM / Tue, Sat
  • CI119 / Kagoshima – Taipei Taoyuan / 12:20PM – 1:30PM / Tue, Sat

The service will be year-round, albeit the flight times during the winter schedule will be slightly different than during the summer schedule.

China Airlines will use its Boeing 737-800s with 158 seats including 8 recliners in business class and 150 economy class seats on the route.

Taipei will be the third international destination out of Kagoshima to have resumed after the pandemic, following last year’s resumption of services to Hong Kong and Seoul.

China Airlines already connects Taipei with several destinations in Japan including Tokyo Haneda and Narita, Osaka Kansai, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Hiroshima, Naha, and Sapporo among others.
