China Airlines to resume Kaohsiung – Kumamoto in early February 2025

China Airlines will use the A321neo on the Kaohsiung – Kumamoto route.

China Airlines will resume flights between Kaohsiung and Kumamoto on February 3, 2025. The route will operate three times a week as follows:

  • CI198 / Kaohsiung – Kumamoto / 6:55AM1 – 10:40AM / Mon, Wed, Fri
  • CI199 / Kumamoto – Kaohsiung / 11:55AM – 1:45PM / Mon, Wed, Fri

1 Scheduled to depart at 7:25AM on Mondays.

The airline plans to use Airbus A321neo aircraft on the route, which it operates with 180 seats on board including 12 in business and 168 in economy class.

China Airlines last operated the route in late February 2020 when it suspended it due to the pandemic. Currently, it is serving Kumamoto out of Taipei five times a week alongside Starlux Airlines’ daily rotation.

No airline currently offers non-stop Kaohsiung – Kumamoto flights.
