From July 1, 2024, ANA will resume year-round service to Shizuoka for the first time in five years. The airline will connect Mt. Fuji Airport with Sapporo New Chitose in Hokkaido and Naha in Okinawa daily.
The Sapporo route will operate as follows:
- NH1262 / Sapporo New Chitose – Shizuoka / 10:50AM – 12:40PM
- NH1261 / Shizuoka – Sapporo New Chitose / 2:15PM – 3:55PM
The Naha route will operate as follows:
- NH1264 / Naha – Shizuoka / 11:15AM – 1:35PM
- NH1263 / Shizuoka – Naha / 1:20PM – 3:45PM
ANA will use Boeing 737-800s operated by its subsidiary ANA Wings and equipped with 166 seats including eight in Premium Class and 158 in economy class on both routes. In fact, the aircraft operating the two routes will switch in Shizuoka. While the aircraft flying to Shizuoka from Sapporo will depart to Naha, the aircraft arriving from Naha will fly to Sapporo.
Both of the routes first launched on June 4, 2009, the same day Shizuoka Airport opened. The flights were suspended when the COVID-19 pandemic brought the travel industry to a halt and only resumed on temporary basis since then, operating during holiday seasons and other peak periods.
While no other airline connects Shizuoka with Naha, Shizuoka’s main domestic operator, Fuji Dream Airlines, flies from the airport to Sapporo.
