ANA Mileage Club to devalue select international awards from April 2024

ANA Miles Devaluation
Not all ANA award tickets will be devalued.

On February 28, 2024, ANA announced it will revise award ticket pricing for select international award bookings. While not all zone pairs will be affected, those that will be will see a considerable increase in the number of miles required to book an award ticket.

For “ANA International Award Ticket” itineraries (i.e. those not including flights on other Star Alliance member airlines), only business and first class award ticket pricing will be affected. Below are the changes in pricing for itineraries originating out of Japan and the United States (regular season roundtrip business class price in miles, first class in parentheses):

  • Itineraries from and to Japan
    • Hawaii: 65,000 to 85,000 (120,000 to 140,000)
    • North America: 85,000 to 105,000 (150,000 to 170,000)
    • Europe 90,000 to 115,000 (165,000 to 190,000)
  • Itineraries from and to mainland US
    • Japan: 85,000 to 105,000 (150,000 to 170,000)
    • Europe: 90,000 to 112,000 (165,000 to 185,000)
    • Asia 1: 90,000 to 112,000 (165,000 to 185,000)
    • Asia 2: 110,000 to 132,000 (195,000 to 215,000)

In the case of “Star Alliance Partner Award Ticket” itineraries (i.e. those consisting of at least one non-ANA Star Alliance flight), select economy class award ticket prices will be affected too. As an example, roundtrip economy class award tickets between Hawaii and North America will cost 47,000 miles instead of the current 40,000 miles.

The full list of changes can be found here.

In addition to the new pricing applying to all award tickets booked at or after midnight, April 18, 2024, Japan time, the following will also result in the repricing of already issued award tickets to the new pricing:

  • Changing an already booked itinerary with no segment flown after the new pricing comes into effect (changing after flying at least one segment will maintain the original pricing)
  • Issuing a ticket for a waitlisted seat that becomes available after the new pricing comes into effect
