ANA plans board and executive officer changes, appoint new representative directors

ANA will change its representative directors line-up in FY2024.

On February 29, 2024, ANA Holdings announced several board member and executive officer changes that will come into effect in FY2024, which starts on April 1, 2024. Most notably, Shinya Katanozaka, will step down from his role as one of the holding company’s representative directors.

Effective April 1, 2024, Shinya Katanozaka will no longer serve as a representative director but continue to serve as the chairman of the ANA Holdings board. Instead, Juichi Hirasawa, a current member of the board will be promoted to a representative director. In addition to his current responsibilities over government & industrial affairs, executive secretariat, and economic security, he will also become responsible for the group’s procurement function.

ANA Holdings will also, among changes to slight changes in the responsibilities of existing executive officers, add six new executive vice presidents who will serve in the following roles:

  • Junko Yazawa: Group Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer; Corporate Communications & Branding
  • Katsuya Goto: Facilities Planning
  • Shinya Kanda: President of ANA X
  • Daisuke Suzuki: Director of Business Strategy
  • Masashi Hamade: Director of Corporate Strategy
  • Hidekazu Isone: Director of Finance, Accounting; Investor Relations & Business Management

At its general shareholders’ meeting which is to be held in June 2024, ANA also plans to make the following changes to the board:

  • Add current executive vice presidents Yoshiharu Naoki, Kimihiro Nakahori, and Jun Taneie to the board of directors
  • Make Yoshiharu Naoki the company’s third representative director
  • Add Ichiro Fukuzawa and Emiko Kajita as members of the company’s audit & supervisory board

All Nippon Airways, ANA Holdings’ subsidiary that operates the actual airline, will also make changes to its board and executive officer line-up. Most notably, Yoshiharu Naoki and Juichi Hirasawa will be promoted to representative directors in addition to the current representative director Shinichi Inoue.
