ANA to add decal celebrating Narita City’s 70th anniversary to 787-8

The home of Tokyo Narita Airport, Narita City, gained its city status through a merger of multiple villages on March 31, 1954. Among the many events and promotions organized to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Narita becoming a city, ANA will put a decal on one of its 787-8s, JA820A.

The decal will feature the city’s 70th anniversary’s logo which includes Narita’s “yuruchara” character, Unari-kun.

The first flight of the aircraft with the decal applied will be NH903 from Tokyo Narita to Dalian, China, on February 23, 2024. The flight is scheduled to depart Narita at 10:10AM and arrive in Dalian at 12:30PM. The second will be the return flight, which is scheduled to depart Dalian at 1:25PM and arrive at Narita at 5:20PM. Beyond that, the aircraft’s schedule will not be announced in advance.

The decal is expected to remain on the aircraft until March 2025, most likely until the end of the Japanese fiscal year (March 31).
