AirJapan added selected QR code-based payment services to the payment methods it accepts in addition to credit and debit cards, the airline announced on August 27, 2024.

In addition to PayPay, a popular Japanese QR code-based payment service, the airline also supports payments using Thailand’s PromptPay and South Korean KakaoPay. Each service can only be used when making payments in the respective country’s currency.

Customers can use the services when booking flights and optional services including seat selection, baggage, and meals, through the AirJapan website.

Overall, payment options supported by AirJapan remain relatively limited compared to ANA’s other low-cost airline, Peach, which also allows payment at convenience stores and ATMs among other methods.
