AirJapan’s fleet to grow to six 787-8s by FY2025

On February 9, 2024, at the occasion of AirJapan’s inaugural flight, Air Japan’s President & CEO Hideki Mineguchi told the media the airline plans to receive the second aircraft to be operated under its brand (JA801A, an ex-ANA aircraft that was world’s first 787 to enter into commercial service) in mid-April 2024. Four more ex-ANA 787-8s are then expected to join the brand by FY2025. For the time being, operating flights on behalf of ANA, rather than AirJapan-branded flights, remains Air Japan’s main business.
