AirAsia X now offers two daily flights to Osaka including one from Kuala Lumpur and one from Taipei.

AirAsia X launched fifth freedom flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Osaka Kansai yesterday, August 1, 2024. The new route announced earlier this year is an extension of the airline’s existing route from Kuala Lumpur to the Taiwanese city.

The one-stop route from Kuala Lumpur to Osaka is scheduled to operate daily as follows:

  • D7378 / Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan / 9:30AM – 2:25PM
  • D7378 / Taipei Taoyuan – Osaka Kansai / 3:50PM – 7:30PM

  • D7379 / Taipei Taoyuan – Kuala Lumpur / 1:25AM+1 – 6:15AM+1

AirAsia X operates the new route in addition to its existing daily non-stop Kuala Lumpur – Osaka Kansai flights:

  • D7532 / Kuala Lumpur – Osaka Kansai / 1:55AM – 9:35AM
  • D7533 / Osaka Kansai – Kuala Lumpur / 10:50AM – 4:40PM

Both of the routes are operated using Airbus A330-300s with 377 seats including 12 in business and 365 in economy class.

AirAsia X will compete with JAL, China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux Airlines, Batik Air, Cathay Pacific, Jetstar, Peach, Thai Vietjet, and Tigerair on the Osaka – Taipei route.

While the airline also planned to launch Taipei – Tokyo Narita in May 2024, it has postponed the plan to do so indefinitely.
