Thailand’s Asia Atlantic Airlines plans to relaunch operations as Air Thailand in October 2024. Tokyo Narita in Japan appears among the list of destinations it initially plans to operate.
Based on the “Our Goals” section of the company’s website, in October 2024, Air Thailand will start offering four weekly flights between its hub Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Tokyo Narita, as well as three destinations in China – Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. The “Our Destinations” section of the website includes Dubai, Osaka, and Hokkaido (without specifying an airport) in addition to those.
Air Thailand plans to use Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft once it launches. The airline received air operating license from Thailand’s authorities in August 2023, allowing it to operate three aircraft of the type. It is currently in the process of recruiting cabin crew members.
Asia Atlantic Airlines was originally established in 2012 as a subsidiary of Japan’s tour operator H.I.S. The airline launched charter flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Tokyo Narita in August 2013 and later operated charters between other airports primarily in Japan and Southeast Asia using a fleet of two Boeing 767-300ERs too. The airline ceased operations in 2018.
